The 1st Customer was His Majesty.
Location of Visit:
Lahore is a provincial capital of Pakistan. Shahdara is situated in Northern Lahore. Syed Ali Hajveri Book Center is situated on a road called Mahmood Shaheed Road. This road is east to west and right angle to GT road from Lahore to Gujranwala (another big city of Pakistan).
Syed Ali Hajveri Book Center is a small shop with area of few meters but it has credit that 1st customer for this shop was self His Majesty Syed Ali Hajveri RA.
Arrival Detail:
It was 10th of December 2005; I was sitting behind the showcase near the door of the shop. I was reading the book Awarf ul maarif of shaykh Shahab u Din Soharwardi. There was shower of blessing by dear Allah AWJ; a respectable personality entered the shop from west. He was covering himself with brown color knitted cotton sheet with black border. It was like this that small portion of face was visible. His majesty was wearing simple cap of white cotton. Came ahead, shake hands courageously and said in his lovely and firm voice, Aslam o Alakum. I submitted Wa Alakum Aslaam.
Price Negotiation:
His majesty looked on the books lying on the showcase a glance and picked the book 'Seerat Hazrat Awais Qarni.' The book was given to me to tell the price and said: 'Inhan wich rayat bhi karde o' (Do you make concession in these books).
I looked the price on inside page, it was written forty Pak Rupees. I thought in wholesale these books are available in 40% concession; this respectable personality has come from distant location, so I should make maximum concession. I said: twenty-five rupees. His Majesty taken out a unit of RS 50 from side pocket and given to me. I returned RS 25.
Demand of Specific Book:
On the front face show case, there were plenty of copies of book 1st edition of Noor e Nabi SAW Syed Ali Hajveri RA (Data Sahib). These were being distributed free of cost. His majesty looked over the books and said: 'data sahib di kitab eh' (This is the book on Data Sahib). I picked one book and submitted by both hands. His majesty kept both the books under cotton sheet and went towards East.
After the Visit:
When his majesty left, I start thinking that the personality may be Syed Ali Hajveri RA. After two days I approached the shrine of my spiritual leader Pir Muhammad Sadiq Hashmi RA at Mughalpura Lahore and received telepathic message, the customer on your shop was self Syed Ali Hajveri RA. After three days I approached the shrine of Syed Ali Hajveri RA and received telepathic message; 'Kitab rayat deny ka shukria' (thanks for providing book on concession).
