Islam and Democracy
There are so may governance systems prevailing in the world, those may be divided in two major categories;
1. Dictator ship
2. Democracy
DICTATOR SHIP
The dictator ship means the governance under the opinion and decision of one man.
This is never accepted by Islam. The consent recommended by Islam is in Chapter 42, verse 38;
"They respond to their Lord by observing the Contact Prayers (Salat). Their affairs are decided after due consultation among themselves, and from our provisions to them they give (to charity)."
Their affairs are decided after due consultation among themselves.
Now please concentrate on this verse;
1."Themselves" means that all the participants involved in consultation or voting should be considered equal status.
2. There is no provision that one may dictate the others.
DEMOCRACY
During the illness days of Prophet SAW; Hadrat Ayesha Siddiqa enquired Prophet SAW;
Nominate Hadrat Abu Bakar RA as 'Khalifa'. Khalifa means the head of state. And a specific word used for democracy in Islam is 'khalafat'.
Prophet SAW replied; I believe that People will prefer Abu Bakar (RA).
So please concentrate in the statement word 'People'.
This is the basis of democracy in Islam; the people are power.
There is no margin of selection of ruler by certain specific person or persons.
Now some power thrusty immature scholars present to the Muslims Khalafat as Selection. Their wish of power forces them to humiliate the concept of democracy in Islam. Actually they want power earning the general public opinion.
There is another ridiculous statement that in Islam ' People are weighted and not counted'.
These people leave no chance to disgrace Islam. Let we ask a simple question; what is the weighing criteria?
These people claim that uneducated poor people should not be consulted for selection of Khalifa.
And they forget that Islam appreciates very much to poor who is patient with it. Majority of heaven will be populated by poor community.
So to make any discrimination in creature of Allah JSN is highly regrettable.
Let Allah JSN help us to understand Islam.
SPIRITUAL PRESENCE OF PROPHET SAW
By the God Blessing, all the souls remain alive after physical death of the individual. The successful souls are free in their movement and travel as per wish of Allah JSN. The souls of prophets are supreme souls. And what about the dignity of soul of head of Prophets! That exists all over the universe.
